Anti Aging Treatment
There are several treatments available today for treating signs of aging. An anti aging treatment could be topical or surgical, and may have varying results.
Dermabrasion is a surgical anti aging treatment where the top layer of the skin is gradually scrubbed off until a new layer of skin is visible. Chemical peel is another surgical anti aging treatment that works a similar way this time by using a chemical solution to strip away the outer layers of the skin. This procedure is often used to remove wrinkles and acne-induced scars that persist at an older age. The result from both procedures is smoother skin, but results may vary. Because of this uncertainty, these procedures come with some risk.
Topical treatments, probably one of the most accessible anti aging treatments in the market, are known to effectively help slight to moderate imperfections on the skin. This includes the reduction of wrinkles, fine lines and damage caused by sun exposure. Useful ingredients like Vitamins A, C and E are known to improve and maintain healthy skin.
A topical anti aging treatment usually contains antioxidants that help combat free radicals and flush away toxins that damage skin.
- Vitamin A, a common term for carotene, maintains healthy skin by strengthening collagen and elastin, a component which improves flexibility in skin. Vitamin A is mainly found in diets rich in fruits and vegetables.
- Vitamin E guards the skin from free radical damage. Apart from its use in reducing scars and wounds, vitamin E also enhances other antioxidants such as vitamin A.
- Squalene is found naturally in the skin but can be obtained from animals and plants. In animals, squalene is commonly taken from shark liver oil and in plants from various botanical species. Squalene is an antioxidant that combats free radicals in the body. The skin quickly absorbs squalene, which also makes it an excellent moisturizer.
- Co-Enzyme Q10 is a powerful antioxidant that strengthens the body’s fatty membranes, reconstructs extensive bodily damage and guards the body from diseases. Idebenone has been known to be an even better version of the Co-Enzyme Q10, where it does not produce negative effects on the body under certain conditions.
- Edelweis extract is an antioxidant, which is also a natural sunscreen that blocks harmful UV rays. Moisturizing ingredients are also the key to an effective topical anti aging treatment. These help protect the skin and prevent dryness caused by natural aging.
- Shea butter, coming from the Shea tree, has natural hydrating properties. It is used for moisturizing and protecting skin from the sun.
- Hydrolyzed Wheat Gluten is also known as a natural moisturizer deriving from flora.
- DMAE, or Dimethylaminoethanol Bitartrate, is an organic compound known to be the building blocks of collagen and elastin. Its ability to prevent dehydration keeps cells healthy and in top shape. Other ingredients that enhance anti aging treatment include hyaluronic acid for moisture, macrocystis pyrifera for detoxification, evening primrose oil to soothe skin and argiereline to relax tense muscles that cause wrinkles.
